Day 1: Nairobi
Nairobi means ‘a place of cool waters’ and the name originated from the Maasai community which inhabited Nairobi before Kenya’s colonization by the British. It is the capital of Kenya situated on the south-central part of the country with an elevation of 1,795m. For the longest time Nairobi has been a popular tour destination due to its rich history and unique attractions. The city serves as a potential excursion hub.
On your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), you will be met by our representative at your arrival terminal. You will then be escorted to your vehicle for transfer to a renowned hotel. (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2: Nairobi – Il Polei
Depart Nairobi at 0800hrs for Il Polei, Laikipia North Sub-county to arrive in time for lunch. Afterwards, take a guided walk among a troop of baboons and learn about these amazing primates. By contrast to other primates, baboon troops are filled with active, smart monkeys who practice sophisticated politics in their daily lives. What happens when smart baboons meet their smart human cousins? Truly a unique and exciting experience. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay at the modern eco-manyattas.
Day 3: Il Polei
After breakfast, you shall experience the traditional life of Maasai women. Find water to fetch, learn how to bead and enjoy dancing. Learn about men’s traditional activities including making fire with sticks, playing bao, and fashioning arrows. Participate in a goat roast with songs and stories around the campfire. Thereafter, enjoy your dinner and overnight at your modern eco-manyatta.
Day 4: Il Polei – Ol Pejeta
Following your breakfast, you will depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy boasts abundance in birdlife, nature and wildlife including the ‘big five’, endangered black rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant. Arrive in time for lunch at your eco-friendly lodge and afterwards depart for an afternoon game drive. Later on at sunset return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. (Fullboard)
Day 5: Ol Pejeta
After your healthy breakfast, head out for a guided walk and enjoy the scenic views of various notable bird species like the secretary bird, black-winged lapwing, vulturine guinea fowl, rosy-throated longclaw, common ostrich and many more. Get conservation education from an experienced local guide then head back to your lodge for lunch. After perhaps a siesta visit the sweetwaters chimpanzee sanctuary which is a very unique opportunity to witness and learn about the day to day care of the chimpanzees. You will then enjoy dinner and overnight at your eco-friendly lodge. (Fullboard)
Day 6: Ol Pejeta
Depart for an early morning game drive and enjoy the beautiful landscapes as well as wildlife. Thereafter enjoy an organic bush breakfast in utmost hospitality. You will then be taken back to your lodge to enjoy some of the lodge’s amenities as you await your lunch. Afterwards, head out for an afternoon game drive and return to your eco-friendly lodge by early evening for a sundowner and overnight. (Fullboard)
Day 7: Ol Pejeta – Nairobi
After breakfast you will depart for a drive to Nairobi as you enjoy the scenic views along the way and arrive in time for lunch at a renowned restaurant. After lunch you will be transferred to JKIA for your onward flight.
