Hidden Gems in Kidepo

Kidepo Valley National Park is apparently the most isolated park in Uganda when it’s one of the most interesting places a wildlife viewer could ever visit. This tour is created for the sole purpose of allowing you to experience the most of this park and boost your bragging rights. Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe

Entebbe is a city in Central Uganda located right next to the shores of Lake Victoria. It’s on the south-western side of the Uganda’s capital (Kampala). Area beaches include busy Lido Beach, near Entebbe International Airport. The lakeside Uganda Wildlife Education Centre protects native animals in wetland, forest and savanna habitats. Nearby, Entebbe Botanical Garden has diverse plants, birds and monkeys. Also close by is the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which protects orphaned chimpanzees.

On your arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives at your arrival terminal. You will then be escorted to your vehicle and transferred to your luxurious hotel. (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 2: Entebbe – Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo Valley National park is a true gem and is a proud host to abundant wildlife. The park was first gazetted as a national park in 1962. It covers a total area of 1,442km2. It currently has a bird population of up to 470 species and 75 species of mammals. Its located on the north-eastern side of Uganda in the Karamoja region. The park harbors a couple of extinct animal species that can’t be found in any other parks in Uganda. Find out the greatness in this location.

After an early breakfast, you will be given a detailed briefing of your tour by our representative before departure. You will then board your safari vehicle with packed lunch. You will take the shortest route which is approximately 661km and proceed on your drive to the popular Kidepo Valley National Park via Soroti – Amuria – Kotido route through Kampala. You will then have your picnic lunch at noon and continue to arrive at your eco-friendly lodge for dinner and overnight. (Fullboard)

Day 3: Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for a guided nature walk and explore a part of the park. The parts you will visit are fascinating and you cannot go with a vehicle. You will enjoy birdlife sightings and their welcoming whistles including the spectacular views of the park. Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for lunch and perhaps take some rest. In the afternoon, you will depart for a scenic game drive experience including a visit to the Narus Valley which is a perfect observation point for game viewing. By late afternoon you will be returned to your eco-friendly lodge for dinner and overnight. (Fullboard)

Day 4: Kidepo Valley National Park

Following your organic breakfast, you will board your safari vehicle and depart for a morning game drive all the way to Kanangorok hot spring. Here you will have the opportunity to see more wildlife including elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes and hopefully the endangered wild dog which are very rare to find. You will then go back to your camp for lunch and relax for a short while. In the afternoon you will visit a local community to learn, engage in some of their interesting activities and as well interact with them. You will return to your eco-friendly lodge by late afternoon for dinner and overnight. (Fullboard)

Day 5: Kidepo Valley National Park – Entebbe

On this day you will enjoy a healthy breakfast at the lodge. You will then depart with your packed lunch for a drive back to Entebbe. On your way back, travel through the remotest zones of Uganda, seeing the villages and thatched houses. You will traverse the vast plains and semi-arid savannah of North Eastern Uganda to the South Eastern region with a motive of reaching Entebbe by early evening. On arrival you will be assisted for check-in at your luxury hotel for dinner and overnight. (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 6: Entebbe

After your breakfast, you will be met by our representative for check out and transfer to the airport for your scheduled departure flight.
