Day 1: Kigali
This city became the capital of Rwanda in 1962 after they gained their independence. Kigali prides itself as the cleanest city in the whole of Africa. It sprawls across numerous hills, ridges and valleys, and has a vibrant restaurant and nightlife scene. The name Kigali was derived from Mt. Kigali and means ‘Broad.’ It was named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt who was the first colonial resident governor of Rwanda. The city is a host to popular attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Inema Arts Centre, the Presidential Palace and Juru Park.
You will be picked on your arrival terminal from the Kigali International Airport by one of our representatives. You will then be escorted to your vehicle. This will follow with a visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay your respects. Afterwards you will be transferred to your luxurious hotel at the city centre for overnight. (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2: Kigali – Akagera National Park
The park covers a total area of 1,122km2. The relatively warm and low-lying plains of Akagera comprise savannah, woodland, wetland and a dozen lakes. The largely open expanse is ideal for game viewing. Since 2010 Rwanda have cut poaching to an all-time low, with the introduction of a helicopter, a canine unit and rhino trackers. A family of lions from South Africa has settled in well, and breeding successfully, and 18 eastern black rhinos have also been reintroduced.
Following your breakfast, you will be met by our representative for a detailed briefing of your tour. You will then board the safari vehicle and depart for Akagera National Park to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch and perhaps a short rest, you will depart for an afternoon game drive and look out for the Zebras, Giraffes and Impalas which are usually scattered along the game tracks. You will be driven back to your eco-friendly lodge for an exceptional sundowner experience then overnight. (Fullboard)

After lunch at the camp you will depart for Lake Ihema to enjoy a boat ride with spectacular sightseeing of hippos, crocodiles and the countless water, swamp and savannah birds that come here. Some of these birds are the fish eagle, cormorants and kingfishers among others. You will return to your eco-friendly lodge by early evening for dinner and overnight. (Fullboard)
