Day 1: Entebbe
Entebbe is a city in Central Uganda located right next to the shores of Lake Victoria. Its on the southwestern side of the Uganda’s capital (Kampala). Area beaches include busy Lido Beach, near Entebbe International Airport. The lakeside Uganda Wildlife Education Centre protects native animals in wetland, forest and savanna habitats. Nearby, Entebbe Botanical Garden has diverse plants, birds and monkeys. Also close by is the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which protects orphaned chimpanzees.
On your arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives at your arrival terminal. You will then be escorted to your vehicle and transferred to your luxurious hotel. (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2: Entebbe – Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale Forest National Park is regarded one of the best destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. It’s a 12 km hike and is normally best enjoyed during the dry months which are mid-November to February, June and September. Varied altitude in Kibale holds up different varieties of habitat, ranging from moist evergreen forest along the Fort Portal plateau, then through the dry tropical forest, and then to the woodland & savanna along the rift valley floor.
You will depart your hotel right after your breakfast and board your safari vehicle for a drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Take your first stop at the Fort Portal area for a picnic lunch. Continue to the park taking a few stops which offer you a chance to see and learn about the tea plantations. You will check-in at your eco-friendly lodge by late evening. (Full Board)
Day 3: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following your breakfast, you will head to the park’s office and be briefed before you head out for the chimpanzee trek. Even though the primates have been considered man’s closest cousins, they are endangered. While on your trek, you will also be able to spot elephants, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheecked Mangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle and black bee eater. You will then have lunch and take some rest before departure to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your arrival you will be transferred to your eco-friendly lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park
This popular park was founded in 1952 and renamed after Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate her visit to the park and was initially called Kazinga National Park. The park covers an area of 1978km2. The locals pride on the rich wildlife found in the park like African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, giant forest hog, warthog, Nile crocodile, African bush elephant, African leopard, lion, and chimpanzee. The park also hosts over 500 species of birds.
After breakfast you will head out for your morning game drive and you should anticipate to see the popular ‘big five’. Watch out for some bush and water bucks, kobs, hyenas and the giant forest hog. You will then go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. You will explore more wild during this breathtaking experience. Later on return to your eco-friendly lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will have your breakfast and thereafter board your safari vehicle to head out for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha. Ishasha is very popular for its tree-climbing lions. On your way to Bwindi Impenetrable you will enjoy the sightings of more wildlife and the beautiful savannah landscapes. Have your lunch at Ishasha. Hopefully you will get a chance to see these wondrous lions climbing up the trees. Arrive at the scenic Bwindi Impenetrable for dinner and overnight at your eco-friendly lodge. (Fullboard)
Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth where half the world’s population of the highly endangered mountain gorillas live in its jungles. The forest has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a World Heritage Site for its biological significance. The park is also known as “Place of Darkness”, the forest is on the edge of the western arm of the Great Rift Valley, only a few kilometers from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) border and about 25 km north of the Virunga Mountains.
After your healthy organic breakfast depart with your picnic lunch and head out to the park’s headquarters for a detailed briefing by local expert guides and trackers on gorilla trekking etiquette. You will then start your trekking based on where the gorillas were last tracked. The tracking could take you from as little as half an hour up to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and the altitude. You will then have your lunch and if time allows visit the Batwa community for some unique cultural experience. Head back to your eco-friendly lodge for dinner and overnight. (Full Board)
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Entebbe
After your breakfast you will board your vehicle and now head back to Entebbe. On your way off the park enjoy your game drive en-route and marvel at the beautiful landscapes on your drive to Entebbe. After your stop at the equator, you will continue on your scenic drive to the Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight or at your residential hotel.
